Technology is changing very fast these days, making it very hard for seniors to keep up with the new technology.  This can be very threatening and stressful to seniors when they try to use equipment based on this new technology.

Most seniors are hesitant to attempt using a PC.  To overcome this, LACOTA and it Tutors provide a friendly and non-threatening environment to help seniors gain confidence, knowledge and skills to use PCs, the applications on PCs and other new technology.  This helps seniors by improving their self esteem and in doing so improves their own well-being.

To achieve this LACOTA runs PC classes for seniors to develop their PC - Digital technology confidence, knowledge and skills.  Training on PC use, Internet, Email, Digital Cameras, USB Drives and in PC and Internet Security is provided.

  • Overview of Digital Media Technology
  • Basic PC Hardware and Issues to be aware of when purchasing a PC
  • Use of USB, CD and DVDs, External Hard Drives and Scanners
  • Use of Mobile Phones and their technology

Courses to be available when demand level is reached and Tutor is available.

Most courses will be of 4 weeks x 2 hours at a cost of $25.00.
